Stadium Export Services, a British Engines company, has partnered with global construction equipment specialist Komatsu to deliver reliable, on-site packaging solutions for excavator arms. 

The Challenge 

Komatsu required a trusted packaging partner to support the ongoing production of excavator components at their Birtley facility in the North East of England. With a demanding and variable production schedule, even minor delays or packaging failures could disrupt delivery commitments and impact global supply chains.  

Each excavator comprises four large, heavy-duty components of varying dimensions, all requiring robust, export-ready packaging tailored to its specific size, weight and handling requirements. The solution needed to be precise, scalable and capable of responding quickly to fluctuating production demands. 

The Solution 

Stadium Export Services delivers a responsive, on-demand service aligned with Komatsu’s production schedule. Pallets are supplied upon request, with the team attending site to carry out the packing process. 

Each excavator arm is carefully secured to its pallet using: 

• Custom timber supports for stability  

• Heavy-duty strapping  

• Protective shrink wrapping  

This ensures every unit is safely packaged for transport to protect any vulnerable areas and painted surfaces, as well as minimising the risk of damage during handling and transit.

Through this ongoing partnership, Stadium delivers a responsive, on-site packaging solution that integrates directly into Komatsu’s production environment. By operating at the point of manufacture, delays are minimised, production flow is protected and equipment is export-ready exactly when required.
