Heavy machinery transport for TDR’s facility move

Stadium Export Services recently supported North-East based training provider, TDR, with a major relocation project by transporting a wide range of heavy engineering machinery and equipment across Newcastle upon Tyne.
Earlier this year, TDR relocated its training and development centre from Scotswood Road, to a newly appointed facility at its headquarters in Quorum Park, Benton.
To support the relocation, TDR engaged Stadium Export Services’ to project manage the handling, uplift and transportation of numerous pieces of machinery and equipment used for TDR’s training programmes.

The relocation was meticulously planned in two stages, whereby the largest pieces of machinery were removed and transported in April 2022. All other associated items, including tooling, benches, an extraction unit and numerous welding cells, were transported by Stadium in June, ensuring a smooth transition to the new training facility.
Working alongside TDR’s employees, Stadium provided the skills necessary to skate out the larger machines through a series of tight egress routes within the building, including the loading and unloading at each stage of the machinery move. To ensure ease of handling, numerous items were carefully packaged prior to being transported, also mitigating potential damage.
TDR is a North-East based organisation that offers apprenticeships in science, engineering, manufacturing and business administration. Since its inception, TDR has trained over 5,000 apprentices.
